No budget. No funding. No customers.
What do you do when you’re a start-up business, with no budget, no funding, and no customers? Two principles, Start 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲, and Get ℂ𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖! ✂️⠀ .⠀ Yesterday we ran our very first webinar teaching start-up business owners on simplified marketing strategy and systems to when starting out – learning from the principles of silicon valley giants (who were not so giant when starting out).⠀ .⠀ Hotmail started with zero marketing budget, and instead focused on spreading the word by adding a creative signature at the bottom of every email “PS. I love you. Get your free email account at Hotmail.”⠀ .⠀ Airbnb infiltrated Craigslist’s user base by allowing all Airbnb postings to be easily cross-posted – cheaply spreading the word through mainstream platforms.⠀ .⠀ Uber gave away free ride vouchers to attendees of one of the biggest tech events and ensured they could deliver an amazing service to gain a massively loyal tech fanatic following very quickly!⠀ .⠀ Many of the biggest online gurus today started at the very bottom with a ton load of self doubt, no leads, and working from their living rooms.⠀ .⠀ Breaking through the noise today as a starting entrepreneur is not about blasting big advertising dollars to an audience that isn’t even listening to you.⠀ .⠀ It’s about a pure focus on the problem that you want to solve for a very specific (think your first 10-20 customers) segment of people… then finding creative / low cost ways to reach them and giving them such an awesome experience you start to build your loyal fans and starting base. ⠀ .⠀ Stay tuned and follow me on Instagram (@growyourbrandwithimpact) for more tips. And look out soon for the next edition of our Free Webinar series!⠀ . ⠀ Always, Angela⠀
